Investigative reporter Mike Beaudet has been with FOX25 since 1996. He began his career at FOX25 as a general assignment reporter and is best known for his groundbreaking investigative work with the FOX25 Undercover unit.

Beaudet’s award-winning reporting consistently gets results. Whether he’s going after someone who’s breaking the law or exposing shortcomings in state and local government, Beaudet doesn’t back down and isn’t afraid to ask tough questions.

Beaudet has earned eight Boston/New England Emmys. In 1999 and 2002 he was named Outstanding News Reporter by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2007, he received Emmys for Investigative Reporting and for a news series about wanted criminals from Massachusetts not being entered into a national database used by law enforcement around the country. In 2008, he won two Emmys for investigative reporting, including Outstanding Investigative Reporter in New England.

Beaudet’s reporting has also been recognized by the Radio and Television News Director’s Association. In 2003, he was awarded an Edward R. Murrow Award for a news series about international adoption and in 2005, received a Murrow Award for work on a news series about innocent men spending years in prison.

In 2005, Beaudet and the FOX25 investigative unit were awarded the prestigious Award of Excellence by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the highest honor given at MADD’s National Media Awards for coverage of drunk driving and underage drinking issues. The FOX25 report, Drunk Drivers: Back Behind the Wheel revealed how Massachusetts is failing to keep repeat drunk drivers off the road.

In 2006, Beaudet was honored by the Associated Press for Enterprise Reporting for his expose about investigators for the U.S. Department of Labor drinking on the job. In 2008, the Associated Press honored Fox Undercover with its award for continuing coverage for its series of stories about Dr. Michael Brown, a Cape Cod doctor convicted of illegally prescribing oxycodone products.

Prior to FOX25, Beaudet, a Massachusetts native, worked at WMUR-TV in Manchester, NH, and at WLBZ-TV in Bangor, Maine. He has also worked for Urban News Service, covering politics at the Massachusetts State House for radio stations across New England.

Beaudet is a 1992 graduate of Emerson College and earned his master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University.
