Video: Idols Gearing Up For Tour

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - The Season 8 "American Idol" tour will be heading out soon. The Idol Summer Tour 8 will hit 50 cities around the country, and this year's Top 10 singers can't wait to get started.

Winner Kris Allen may get the biggest response during the arena shows, but it has been the 29-year-old glam rocker Adam Lambert who made recent headlines talking about his sexuality and future projects with some big name acts.

Lambert spoke about what he has planned for the upcoming shows.

"It's gonna be really high energy. The jacket that I'm wearing is like a show in itself you know, I'm really really into it," said Lambert.

About the chance to work with big name music acts, Lambert said, "There are opportunities left and right. Artists that I respect and honor are saying 'Hey you wanna do something together? Do you wanna collaborate? Do you want to write together? You know, we'd love to have you come and guest on this thing.' I have to pinch myself. It's nuts."

Lambert is already hard at work on his debut album and said it will have a little bit of everything.

"Vocally you'll expect a lot of classic style harmonies and and vocal riffs and lines and production," Lambert said. "But hopefully with the actual instrumentation, it will be really fresh and really new."

And as thousands of fans wait for their favorite Idols to come to town, they can expect Lambert to deliver what he does best.

"There will be a grand entrance, amazing lighting, screen action behind me, a great band, [and] some songs that are familiar to the audience and then some new stuff. It's going to be quite a show."

The American Idol tour kicks off July 5th in Portland, Ore.
