(NewsCore) - NEW YORK -- Six-year-old actor Max Page, who played a pint-sized Darth Vader in a Super Bowl ad for Volkswagen, revealed Monday that he has never seen a "Star Wars" movie.
The "Star Wars"-themed spot featured a young boy dressed in a Darth Vader costume attempting to conjure the power of "The Force" from the sci-fi movies, and believing he has used it to start a 2012 Passat parked in his driveway.
Max appeared Monday on NBC's "Today" in his Darth Vader costume, alongside his mother Jennifer. When asked if he had looked at photos of Vader online to prepare, he replied, "sort of."
Jennifer Page said during the interview that Max was born with a congenital heart defect that required surgery when he was just three months old. He now has a pacemaker. "He's an inspiration," his mother said.
She also said the family did not know the Volkswagen spot would run during the Super Bowl until halfway through the first day of filming.
Max has previously appeared in regional commercials and on the soap opera "The Young and the Restless." The Volkswagen ad was his first national commercial, and was viewed more than 10 million times on YouTube before it aired Sunday during the Super Bowl.
