FOX25, myfoxboston - On January 20, 2000, Sandra Berfield was going about her daily life. She had just returned to her home in Everett and opened a package left on her front step addressed to her.

Sandra was killed instantly by a pipe bomb hidden inside the package.

The package was left by Steven Caruso, who had been stalking Berfield for two years. And since they were not related, Sandra was unable to get a restraining order against him.

Last week, after 10 years, a bill that will allow restraining orders against "creeps" if you will finally moved into the final stages before becoming law.

Sandra's sister, Cheryl Darisse, who has been fighting for this law for more than a decade, recently joined the FOX25 Morning News.
