(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Part of divorce can be hashing out alimony payments.

Last year, FOX 25 reported on the push to try and reform the lifetime alimony law in Massachusetts. Nothing was done, despite hearing arguments from some lawmakers and those directly affected by the law.

But that could change this year. The bill being re-proposed on Beacon Hill would end lifetime alimony payments in most cases and cap how much one spouse is ordered to pay the other.

Massachusetts is one of the only states in the union that still enforces lifetime alimony. Some on Beacon Hill want to see that law change. A hearing will be held on the bill at the State House on Wednesday.

Massachusetts Bar Association President Denise Squillante stopped by the FOX 25 Morning News to talk more about this topic.
