(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Words matter! That's the principal idea behind an organization founded by actors Brian White and Keisha Whitaker to promote the power of the written word among today's youth.
"Words Matter Now" recently selected winners for their first ever writing contest, where aspiring writers, filmmakers, musicians and choreographers, all from massachusetts and between the ages of 12 and 22, submitted either a written essay, screenplay, song lyrics or a dance video treatment.
FOX25 was joined by 13-year-old Michelle Cullen, of Roslindale, winner in the songwriting category, producer Harold "Levelsoundz" Shawn and the #1 most popular R&B group on YouTube, Ahmir who recently recorded Michelle's lyrics.
