1 dead, 3 hurt in restaurant shooting

LAWRENCE (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police say one person is dead and three others were hurt after two men walked inside a Lawrence club and started shooting.

The two suspects identified as 30-year-old Johan Saint Clair and 27-year-old Fernando Guerrero, both of Lawrence, were later caught by police after a chase and face first degree murder charges.

Lawrence Police Chief John Romero said the two men walked into La Guira restaurant and club at about 1 a.m. on Monday and shot two men and two women before fleeing.

One of the men was pronounced dead. A man and woman are listed in critical condition at a Boston hospital. Another woman is in stable condition at Lawrence General Hospital.

It's not clear yet what led to the shooting, but investigators say there was a birthday celebration there before a dispute broke out.

Romero said it wasn't immediately clear if the suspects were in the club before the shooting or walked in and started firing. He said the motive was under investigation.

The victims have not been identified.
