Father drives drunk with child in back seat

FRAMINGHAM (FOX 25 / myfoxboston.com) - In no way is he Father of the Year. A local man showed what not to do with your 2-year-old daughter when he drove drunk with her in the back without a child seat.

Ronival Pires, 30, was arrested on Sunday at around 5:45 p.m. after failing several roadside sobriety tests. He denied drinking despite the smell of alcohol on his breath.

The MetroWest Daily News reports that someone called police from a Tedeschi’s convenience store parking lot to report a young child alone in a parked car.

When police arrived, they witnessed the vehicle pulling out of the parking lot with the child in the back. Police stopped the car on Columbia Street and found the young girl without a child seat sitting next to a 30-pack of beer.

The girl was released into the custody of her mother.

Pires was charged with negligent endangerment of a child, driving under the influence of liquor and driving without a license.

Pires pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment yesterday and was released without bail. He is due back in court on July 9 for a pretrial conference.
