A Quincy couple was arrested for stealing a $20,000 gold Rolex woman’s watch from a Braintree jewelry store.

Police say surveillance video showed the watch being taken from Long’s Jewelers Tuesday night at the South Shore Plaza.

The couple was in the store Tuesday night and the store’s manager noticed the watch was missing the next day.

Stephen W. O’Brien, 41, of Quincy, was seen reaching behind the counter and into the display area, removing the Rolex watch and concealing it in his jacket that he laid on the display case, police said.

Surveillance photos were posted on the Mass. Most Wanted Web site, leading to several calls identifying O’Brien as the man in the photo and one caller identifying the female as O’Brien’s girlfriend, Mary Ann Wolusky, 40, also of Quincy.

A search of the couple’s apartment uncovered the shirt O’Brien was wearing at the time of the theft and a jacket that appeared to be the one that the watch was concealed in. The Rolex watch was not recovered.

O’Brien and Wolusky were placed under arrest and charged with larceny over $250.
