WESTBOROUGH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Westborough lacrosse coach was suspended after throwing balls at players, FOX25 News has learned.

Varsity Lacrosse Coach Frank Arena allegedly threw a fit yesterday on the bus after a loss to Nashoba and then returned to the school, asked the kids to put cups on and head back out on the field, one of the players said.

That's where he apparently fired lacrosse balls on the players to punish them for the loss.

Arena has been suspended indefinitely pending an investigation.

Principal John G. Smith handed out letters to parents today, saying the suspension was due to the coach’s "behavior."

Erin Hawksworth will have the latest on this story tonight on the FOX25 News at 6.
