2 accused of performing illegal liposuction

CHELSEA (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Two people accused of performing illegal liposuction will face a judge today.

Victor Hernandez, 38, of Somerville and Maria Nasciamento, 55, will appear in Chelsea District Court today after being arrested for allegedly performing illegal liposuctions and other medical procedures.

Hernandez and Nasciamento will be arraigned on charges of unauthorized practice of medicine and related offenses. Both were arrested yesterday by State Police during the execution of a search warrant inside their office at 85 Broadway in Revere.

Authorities say the same address is that of a different doctor, Leonard Friedman, who is currently under Suffolk County indictment for trading prescriptions for cash.
