2 stabbed, 1 fatally in home invasion

HAMPDEN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A woman is dead and a man seriously injured in what police are calling a home invasion in the western Massachusetts town of Hampden.

Police Chief Jeff Farnsworth said a person of interest is being questioned in connection with the incident, which investigators do not believe was a random act of violence.

Farnsworth says officers responding to the home on Main Street at about 3 a.m. on Friday found one victim inside the home and another outside on the street. Police did not immediately release their names.

The injured man was taken to a Springfield hospital.

Police are questioning a 19-year-old man who was picked up in Springfield about 90 minutes after the stabbings were discovered.
