SPENCER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Hundreds of people are enjoying the many rides at the Spencer Fair but there is one that is now off limits.

The state ordered the amusement company to shut down the "Convoy" after a 2-year-old Worcester girl fell out of one of the cars and was struck by the ride.

The girl was sitting with her 4-year-old brother when she apparently became frightened.

There are no buckles or belts on the inside compartments of the ride and police believe she may have tried to climb out while the cars were circling the track.

Ride manager Jules Gillette says his family has been doing the Spencer Fair for more than a half century and this is the first incident of it's type. He says the ride is safe and was inspected before the fair opened.

The little girl was taken to a Worcester Hospital and has since been released.

There are no age or height requirements for the convoy and because of this some parent thinks that should change.
