(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A multimillion dollar settlement was given to the family of a women killed by a defective pool slide.
Massachusetts attorneys at Sugarman and Sugarman announced Friday that the husband of Robin Aleo will receive more than $20 million.
Aleo was from Colorado. She was visiting family in Andover in 2006 when she slid down an inflatable pool slide sold at Toys "R" Us. The slide bottomed out, causing Aleo to hit her head on the pool deck. She suffered severe neck injuries and was later taken off life support.
The slide was imported from China and did not comply with U.S. federal standards.
This settlement is the largest personal injury jury verdict in Massachusetts in 2011.
