NEWBURYPORT, Mass. (FOX25, myfoxboston) - Newburyport Police have taken out criminal complaints against three teenagers accused in a case of alleged cyberbullying.
The victim's mother Josie Klapec spoke exclusively with FOX25's Ted Daniel.
She says the teens created a Facebook page using her 14-year-old son's identity.
Klapec says the teens posted cruel and obscene messages directed at students at Newburyport High School.
Newburyport Police charged the teens with identity theft.
This case follows another cyberbullying incident in South Hadley, where two teens were suspended for bullying 15-year-old Phoebe Prince through texts and social networking sites.
Prince took her own life as a result of the abuse.
Beacon Hill lawmakers are currently drafting anti-cyberbullying legislation.
