PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (FOX25, myfoxboston) - A 4-year-old New Hampshire boy is being credited with saving his neighbors’ home when he saw their garage on fire.

Young Cal Barrows was wearing his Spiderman pajamas and playing with his sisters in the family room just before bed when he looked out the window of his Portsmouth home.

“I saw the fire,” said Barrows. “I said, ‘Mom, I see a fire.’”

The family called 911 and firefighters arrived just in time to douse the flames before it reached the neighbors’ home.

“They had just done a fire safety thing in school, so he knew. He was proud of himself that he did the right thing and that he knew to tell me and to dial 911,” said his mother, Kristin Barrows.

“People in town are calling him ‘eagle eye.’ That's his super hero name around town,” she said.

He got a standing ovation when they went out for breakfast, and the Portsmouth Country Club hung his picture on the wall.

He says he’ll so the same thing if he ever sees another fire.
