HYANNISPORT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Nearly 40 filthy cats and kittens were removed from a Cape Cod home on Tuesday. Many of the 39 felines were covered with dirt, feces and fleas.
Police discovered the cats after being called to the Hyannisport home for a domestic abuse claim. Neighbors tell FOX25 that a husband, wife and 2 children live at the home.
Most of the cats rescued were both hungry and thirsty. There was no water source found in the home for the cats.
Volunteers rescued the cats which were then taken to the New England Socierty for Abandoned Animals. They are now looking for good homes for these cats. If you'd like to know more about adoption, click here .
