Police say five students were taken to the hospital with stab wounds after they left Lynn Classical High School on Thursday afternoon.

The stabbings happened at the intersection of Holyoke Street and Keslar Avenue sometime after the students were dismissed.

Police got a call at about 3 p.m. on reports that a 17-year-old had been stabbed multiple times in the back and leg. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

Soon after, police were told a 16-year-old victim had already been taken to North Shore Medical Center/Union Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Three other victims were taken to North Shore Medical Center/Salem Hospital.

An 18-year-old victim had stab wounds to the torso and arm and was reported in stable condition. A 15-year-old victim had non-life threatening injuries, and the last victim, 17 years old, suffered a stab wound to the back and is in stable condition.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
