WEARE, N.H. - A 7-year-old girl was attacked by a potentially rabid fox near her Weare, N.H., home.
The girl’s mother, Cherry Palmisano, says she was outside while her three daughters were playing with their dwarf goats when the fox attacked.
After the fox scratched her daughter Kalie, Cherry grabbed a gate and threw a bicycle at the animal and it ran off.
Kalie got rabies shots for two puncture wounds on her legs.
Police believe the fox that scratched Kalie is the same fox that was hit by a car and killed nearby.
That fox tested positive for rabies.
