REVERE, Mass. - A pedestrian was hit by an 85-year-old driver in Revere on Thursday night, police said.
Police said the driver, Michele Veneziano, of Lynn, side-swiped a Saturn with his 1998 Plymouth Voyager minivan just after 8 p.m. He stopped briefly and got out of his vehicle, but then got back in and started driving when he struck 31-year-old Ed Regan, from East Boston, who was crossing Revere Beach Boulevard, police said.

Regan had serious injuries but was listed in fair condition at Massachusetts General Hospital on Friday.
The driver was not arrested.
He had his license revoked and was cited for charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing damage, two counts of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violations.
