Pedestrian killed on highway

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (myfoxboston) - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on Interstate 290 on Wednesday, police said.
The 49-year-old man, Albert J. Bairos, of Shrewsbury, was hit at about 7:30 p.m. near the Green Street overpass.
Philip Bruno, 66, from Blandford, Mass., was driving the tractor trailer. He was not hurt.
Police are trying to find out why Bairos was walking along the highway.
