Pedestrian killed while crossing Route 145 in Revere

A 35-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car while crossing Route 145 in Revere on Saturday evening.

Police said Jose Funez, from Revere, was crossing the road near Winthrop Street at about 7:40 p.m. when he was hit by 29-year-old Jonathan Spano, from Winthrop, who was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Funez was taken to Massachusetts General hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The left and right travel lanes of Route 145 northbound were closed for two hours.

Police are investigating.
