Are kids too protected from failure?

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Between getting rid of midterms and removing team captains so as to not hurt other player's feelings, it may seem as if we're coddling kids.

Are kids today too protected from failure and other 'real world' experiences?

We talked to Patriot Rustani, who graduated from Timberlane Regional High School.  That school recently made headlines for eliminating midterms and finals .

A few days after Timberlane's announcement, Lincoln-Sudbury High School said they would be looking into using 'shared leadership' instead of team captains .

We also spoke with Neil Swidey of Boston Globe Magazine, who wants to know, " Whatever happened to losing? "
