Taunton man charged with killing gas station clerk

    TAUNTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) - A Taunton man is headed to court to face charges that he killed a gas station clerk last weekend.

    Authorities say 37-year-old Steven Foster is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on a murder charge in Taunton District Court.

    Foster was arrested on Monday after questioning by police and charged with the fatal shooting of 45-year-old Hegazy Sayed inside the Planet Petroleum store at about 10 p.m. on Sunday. Police say Foster was trying to rob the store. Sayed's body was discovered by a customer, who called police.

    Foster is also charged with armed robbery, possession of a stolen firearm and witness intimidation. The investigation is continuing.
