BUZZARDS BAY - The body of fallen United States Marine Corps Captain Eric A. Jones returned to Cape Cod today at Otis Air National Guard Base.
Captain Jones is a 2004 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston and was a highly decorated member of Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 169.
He served in Iraq and Afghanistan and is survived by his parents Cynthia and Kenneth of Mashpee.
Jones was killed in a mid-air crash that killed 11 U.S. personnel last Monday.
A wake will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Chapman, Close, and Gleason Funeral Home at 74 Algonquin Ave. in Mashpee.
The funeral, which is also open to the public, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at John Wesley United Methodist Church at 270 Gifford St. in Falmouth.
