A nose hair trimmer triggered a bomb squad response at the Central Square post office on Wednesday morning.
Postal workers got suspicious when the package wouldn’t stop humming.
The building was evacuated for 90 minutes and the Cambridge bomb squad was called in.
They weren’t able to get in touch with the name of the person who sent it, so they opened it.
Inside, they found a nose hair trimmer that started on its own.
The trimmer was sent as a birthday present to an MIT staff member.
