A 5-year-old autistic boy was found after two hours of searching in the Douglas woods on Saturday, police said.
Police got a call at about 10 a.m. from a woman named Paula L'heureux, who said she was walking with the boy, Jacob Preston Dalo, in the Douglas State Forest when he ran off on one of the trails and she could not find him.
Police responded to the area and received assistance from the Sutton Police, Worcester County Sheriff, State Police K9 Units, and the State Police Air Wing.
At about 12:30 p.m., someone walking on one of the trails about a mile away from where Dalo was last seen found the boy playing with some sticks near a brook. They alerted one of the searchers and the boy was reunited with his parents.
He was in good health and was not harmed.
