FALMOUTH, Mass. (FOX25, myfoxboston) - A burst pipe in the ceiling of an elderly housing complex in Falmouth has left more than 20 people displaced.

The pipe burst Saturday afternoon at the Harborview Apartment complex on Scranton Avenue, flooding several floors and severly damaging some apartments.

"It wasnt dripping, it was flowing in," said Nancy Noonan, whose mother lives in the complex.

Firefighters said the cold temperatures may have caused the pipe to burst.

Officials said it could take weeks or months to repair all of the units.

Many of the residents got a room at the nearby Holiday Inn to stay the night.
