BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Flags all over the state will fly at half staff on Friday in honor of a Massachusetts soldier who died while serving overseas.
27-year-old Army Spc. Keith Benson died on Jan. 18 in the Paktika province of southeastern Afghanistan.
Army Specialist Benson was originally from Brockton, but grew up in Norwood and graduated from Norwood High School in 2002.
Governor Patrick has ordered that U.S. flags and Commonwealth of Massachusetts flags be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday in honor of Benson.
Officials have not released a cause of death for Spc. Benson.
