BOSTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) - A little Florida boy was diagnosed with a deadly heart condition at just six weeks old.

Denise Sanders, the boy's mother, was told there was no surgery for her son Michael's condition. The boy was placed on a feeding tube and attended to by hospice.

But it turned out that the only doctor who could fix Michael’s heart was right here in Boston.

Dr. Pedro del Nido, a pediatric cardiologist working for the company, Best Doctors , looked through the little Michael Sanders medical records, determined that he had been misdiagnosed and figured out a way to save him.

"I guess you can see what Best Doctors has done for us, you gave us back our son," says Denise Sanders.

Now, nearly a year and a half after Michael’s open-heart surgery, just before the holidays, his parents is return to Boston to thank the doctor and the company that put them together.

For more on this miraculous little boy and the company who saved his life, tune in to Erin Hawksworth's report on the FOX25News at 6.
