BOSTON (FOX25, myfoxboston) - A little Florida boy was diagnosed with a deadly heart condition
at just six weeks old.
Denise Sanders, the boy's mother, was told there was no
surgery for her son Michael's condition. The boy was placed on a
feeding tube and attended to by hospice.
But it turned out that the only doctor who could fix Michael’s heart was right here in Boston.
Dr. Pedro del Nido, a pediatric cardiologist working for the company, Best Doctors , looked through the little Michael Sanders medical records, determined that he had been misdiagnosed and figured out a way to save him.
"I guess you can see what Best Doctors has done for us, you gave us back our son," says Denise Sanders.
Now, nearly a year and a half after Michael’s open-heart surgery, just before the holidays, his parents is return to Boston to thank the doctor and the company that put them together.
