Police and fire officials are investigating a suspicious package sent to Sen. John Kerry's office in downtown Boston.
Kerry spokeswoman Brigid O'Rourke said the package was delivered in the mail Thursday morning.
When staffers became concerned about the package they contacted the Boston fire and police departments, who responded to the scene. O'Rourke said the federal Department Homeland Security was also investigating the incident.
O'Rourke, who did not see the package herself, said the office had not been evacuated. Kerry was not in the office at the time.
