BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - One local woman is giving thanks to a Boston sanctuary for poor and homeless women this holiday season.

Rosie’s Place gave Pricilla Williams the tools she needed to get back on her feet and out of shelters.

Pricilla tells FOX 25 she’s lived in shelters for the past four years with her daughter. The story that led up to her living in shelters is no different than the story many Americans are currently living.

“I was unable to pay my rent working two jobs, making ends meet to sustain full market rent,” says Pricilla.

Ms. Williams said she made the conscious decision to utilize Rosie’s Place.

She says the shelter provided her with the services she needed to find a place to call her own.

The workers at Rosie’s Place are fully aware of the struggles women face as they struggle to pay the bills.

“All of a sudden you have to figure out how to get the electricity on and phone. Where do I send my child to school? How do I provide food? Money is going towards rent,” says Sandi Mariano, Director of Advocacy and Residential Services and Rosie’s Place.

Rosie’s Place helps to answer those tough questions.

“The women there have a way to build women up. They don’t look at you as if you are any different,” says Pricilla.

Pricilla Williams now works two jobs and says she is so grateful that she no longer wakes up having to worry about supporting her daughter.
