HANOVER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A man was struck by lightning during Saturday's storms while inside the building of his auto repair shop.

Scott Almeida was on a landline phone when lightning struck the building and traveled from the outlet connecting the landline phone to the wall through his body.

Almeida was holding a cell phone in his other hand when he was shocked. He was taken to South Shore Hospital conscious and alert.

Hanover Fire Captain said that it is dangerous to be on a landline phone during a thunderstorm, but that cell phones are OK.

FOX25's Diana Rocco will have an update to this story tonight on the FOX25 News at 6.
