Police say they are stepping up operations in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood after a gang-related shooting inside an elementary school gym during a pickup basketball game for kids. No child was hurt.
Police say the 22-year-old victim was in the gym at the John Marshall Elementary School at about 6:52 p.m. Tuesday when the gunman fired one shot.
Both men ran from the building, where the shooter fired more shots, striking the victim in the arm and leg, inflicting non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the victim, whose identity is being withheld, has not cooperated with investigators. Police are appealing for public help to identify the gunman.
