A shooting suspect has been found dead inside of a home in Manchester, N.H., following a 6-hour long standoff with police after he shot and killed his estranged wife, police said.

Police said Jonathan Charbonneau Sr. was out of jail after a recent domestic dispute with his wife, Melissa Charbonneau.

Melissa Charbonneau went with her father to collect some things from her Jewett Street home when Jonathan Charbonneau Sr. confronted them and began shooting, police said.

Melissa Charbonneau was killed instantly. Her father suffered non-life threatening injuries.

A SWAT team was called to the scene and Jonathan Charbonneau Sr. remained inside the home.

All nearby houses were evacuated.

Several schools were on lockdown during the afternoon, but the lockdowns were lifted and the students were allowed to go home.

Officers broke into the home six hours later to find Charbonneau had committed suicide.

Police said this was not related to another shooting in the same area early Thursday morning .
