BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Immigrant activists in Massachusetts have began a final push to make sure that the state's immigrants take part in the U.S. Census.
A coalition of advocates urged immigrants today to fill out census forms and promised that the private information provided won't be shared with other federal agencies.
The Rev. Cheng Imm Tan, of the Boston Mayor's Office of New Bostonians, said it was important for immigrants to fill out the census because the state's immigrant population is the only one to have grown in the state in the last decade. Tan also said adovocates are available to help residents fill out forms, which went out this week.
