BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The video made national news back in November, when MBTA surveillance caught a woman toppling into the train pit at North Station.

An alert train driver was able to stop the train just moments before it hit Sophia Hartdegen, and on Friday, driver Charice Lewis was honored with the Community Recognition Award from Partners in Transportation.

Lewis has worked for the MBTA for over four years.

She says he has never spoken with Hardegen, but Hardegen’s father sent her flowers and a ‘thank you’ note.
