MILLIS (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Parents say a local daycare, which has been a staple in Millis for nearly to decades, abruptly closed its doors, leaving them with no one to watch their kids next week.
More than 60 families were enrolled at Millis Country Day School.
“It was just so sudden, so last minute,” said Jennifer Burke, a parent with 11-year-old twins.
The school announced the closing on Friday, leaving parents scrambling to find a new daycare.
“I didn't really see this coming. I mean, yes, my check had bounced a few times, but they always fixed it,” said Jackie Charest, a teacher.
Owner Joe Dipesa said this is his only option because enrollment is down and he can’t pay the bills.
The school employed 15 teachers and provided childcare for infants and school children.
