BRIDGEWATER, Mass. - Bridgewater was the site of a Hollywood-style explosion early Saturday morning, where a 727 aircraft was blown up and left burning in a field off Curve Street. It was all part of a scene for an upcoming movie.

Directors counted down before the explosion, which sent a fireball shooting into the air and rattled a few windows in nearby neighborhoods.

“It sounded really loud – louder than thunder," said a child who lives nearby.

“All of the sudden I see this orange light, so I ran out to the window and there’s this giant ball of fire in the sky,” said nearby resident Caroline Davis.

The scene was filmed for a new movie called “Wichita” starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

In the movie, the fiery crash takes place in a cornfield in Kansas.
