Separate trials for Wilkerson and Turner

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A judge has ordered separate trials for former State Senator Dianne Wilkerson and Boston City Councilor Chuck Turner, who are both facing corruption charges.

Among other charges, Wilkerson is accused of taking bribes between 2002 and 2008 in order to get a liquor license for a nightclub.

Turner is charged with accepting a $1,000 bribe and making false statements to the FBI.

Federal Judge Douglas Woodlock believes there is too much risk of a mistrial if the pair is tried together.
