The driver of the pickup truck, a Massachusetts man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The male driver of the SUV and his female passenger, both from Connecticut, suffered serious injuries.
One surviving victim was transported to an area hospital by medical helicopter. The other victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. Identifying information for all victims is being withheld pending proper family notifications.
The investigation into what caused the pickup truck to cross the median is ongoing.
