STONEHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Police have arrested a man suspected of attacking a teenage girl who was jogging in a heavily wooded area in Stoneham on Sunday.
Yuri S. Mikalixen, 22, of Malden, has been charged with Assault by means of a Dangerous Weapon; Kidnapping; Assault with Intent to Rape; and MDC Reservation Violations.
State and local police searched the woods of Stoneham with K-9s and helicopters looking for Mikalixen.
The suspect allegedly hit the woman on the head with a blunt object, taking her by surprise in a heavily wooded area.
Mikalixen crossed the Malden line in the woods before being arrested by Malden police.
The victim positively identified the suspect as the man who attacked her. He was brought to the State Police barracks for booking, where he was reportedly giving police several false names.
Mikalixen is being held without bail at the State Police Barracks for arraignment in Woburn District Court on Tuesday. The investigation is ongoing.
