WORCESTER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Worcester woman accused of killing her pregnant friend and cutting the baby from the womb has complied with a court order to give prosecutors a DNA sample.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Julie Corey submitted to a cheek swab Wednesday in Worcester Superior Court after a judge allowed a motion filed by the assistant district attorney requesting the sample.

The Telegram & Gazette reports that prosecutors will compare Corey's genetic profile with "DNA profiles to be obtained from other relevant physical evidence collected in the course of the investigation of the death of Darlene Haynes."

Corey and the baby were found in a homeless shelter in Plymouth, N.H., in July 2009, just days after Hayes was found dead with a fractured skull.

Corey is being held without bail after pleading not guilty.
