HAGERSTOWN, Md. - Over the weekend, Coco the Chihuahua, died from complications due to smoke inhalation.
Friday Coco rescued his owner from a burning semi-truck. The owner has since been released from Baltimore Burn Center and is back home in Belleview, Florida.
Fox 5's Claudia Coffey spoke to Coco's owner Tim Harris he says he is saddened by the news.
"He was placed in my arms for a reason, He's my hero," says Harris.
Harris says the Washington County Humane Society collected money to help pay for Coco's vet bills. He says the donations exceeded the bills and the remainder will be used to help other animals in need.
Coco will be cremated and the remains sent to the owner in Florida.
