A retired British couple snatched from their yacht last month by Somali pirates say they're afraid they could be killed within a week or handed to a terrorist group if a ransom demand isn't paid. Paul and Rachel Chandler were interviewed by British TV.

According to an interview broadcast on Channel 4 News in England , Paul and Rachel Chandler said they were "unharmed and in reasonable physical health" but their "kidnappers were losing patience". The husband urged the government to start negotiations over a ransom stating "I have no doubt that they will not hesitate to kill us, perhaps within a week or so of now if there is no response."
