Former John Edwards' aide Andrew Young discusses sex tape

(FOX25, myfoxboston) - It depends on how much you like your job, just how far you’re willing to go to please your boss. But helping him cover up his affair, lying to the media about it and then pretending to be the father of your boss’s illegitimate child? That’s a lot to ask.

But in the world of former presidential candidate John Edwards, that is only the start.

Edwards' former aide and confidant Andrew Young is the one who took the fall when we learned Edwards' mistress was pregnant.

We've since learned the baby belongs to Edwards, and now that Young has a book to sell, the incredible and kind of raunchy details are coming out. And there's a sex tape.

Young told FOX News’ Sean Hannity that he has the tape and has been offered a lot of money for it, but he won’t sell it.

It was allegedly shot by a pregnant Reille Hunter while she and John were together.

Young details in his book how the popularity got to Edwards’ head.

“After he and Kerry lost, he considered himself a president in waiting. And a lot of people, billionaires in Russia, Tony Blair in England, leaders all across the United States treated him like a future president and his head just went crazy,” said Young.

Young admits he was a little crazy too when he told the world he was the father of Edwards’ love child. It was a choice he says he made with his family by his side.

Young’s new tell-all book spares no one. Edwards’ wife Elizabeth was described as terrifying and sometimes cruel. Hunter was described as new age and spacey.

“I'm going to try to be the best person I can be from here on out. I know I made the biggest mistake, the hugest mistake. And I can apologize a million times from Tuesday. I think John Edwards and I both owe a huge apology,” said Young.

Young says he made one other copy of the sex tape for the federal grand jury investigating whether or not Edwards improperly used campaign money to keep his affair a secret.
