BEDFORD, N.H. - A 20-year-old state representative has apologized after he was arrested at an underage drinking party over the weekend.
Brian Poznansky is one of the youngest people to ever be elected to office in New Hampshire. He has a very impressive resume. He’s the vice president of his junior class at St. Anselm’s College, and he is an Eagle scout. But he still isn’t old enough to drink.
He was arrested along with 21 other people at a Bedford home on Friday morning. He was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol.
“As a State Representative, I am held to a high standard of conduct and I hold myself to an even higher standard. I recognize my mistake and I now want to put this behind me and return to my full time studies,” he said in a statement. “I look forward to representing my constituents when the New Hampshire Legislature reconvenes in January.”
Poznansky still has one year left on his term and was not up for re-election on Tuesday.
Poznansky says he has support of fellow democrats.
