BOSTON - It’s only November, but state lawmakers are already wrapping it up for the year.

Critics, including Gov. Deval Patrick, say now is not the time for a long vacation.

Lawmakers are leaving behind a lot of unfinished business

They’ll be vacationing until January without taking action on a crime bill and education reform.

The senate refused to rule on a bill to re-instate the death penalty, ruling it was out of order.

Another bill dealing with state charter schools could put millions of dollars in federal aid in jeopardy.
