Gov. Brewer's awkward debate performance a lesson for Mass. candidates

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - She's the woman who signed Arizona’s tough new immigration law, but republican governor Jan Brewer is now taking some heat over a very rough debate performance.

The candidates for governor in Massachusetts are getting ready for a series of debates and Arizona’s governor has now handed them a blueprint of how not to do it.

Amazingly, her worst moment came on the part of the debate that should be a slam dunk: the opening statement.

But Brewer's debate ordeal was far from over. Watch as her opponent questions her claim about illegal immigration sparking a wave of beheadings in Arizona.

It's never a good sign when the press heckles you after the debate, but it may not even matter. Brewer still holds a 20-point lead over her democratic opponent.
