SCITUATE, Mass. (myfoxboston) - Many are continuing to man their churches after they have been shut down by the Archdiocese.

It's been more than four years and they refuse to leave - they call themselves vigilers.
Since the Archdiocese of Boston, citing financial distress and a shortage of priests, decided to shut down several churches, some parishioners simply refuse to go.
At night, they sleep over and during the day they rotate in and out, for fear of being locked out. They operate nearly as fully-functioning churches complete with CCD classes, prayer groups and mass. Anonymous priests even provide communion... READ THE REST
